Annus mirabilis

I am choosing not to write anything this morning on the Feast of the Circumcision, instead I would like to take a few minutes to thank God. One year ago today we were blessed with what we in our home have dubbed our "Annus mirabilis". It was one year ago today that we were graced with our new home when we were confident that we were unable to get. We did a last minute assessment of our resources, and by the Grace of our Lord were granted (quite mysteriously) the financial means to acquire it. At this time we were expecting a child (yet another miracle after losing one), and things were just falling into place.

This year has been filled with as much sorrow as it has been joy, but again it was by Almighty God's Grace that we were able to pull through on all fronts and start our new life as a fledgling family. Even more, we are graced today with a 100% unified front, to be leaving behind the Episcopal Church and starting a new life at a new Parish!

My prayers go out to you today. For your families, friends and parishes. I know things are difficult for us all, but it is the grace of God, through the most Holy of Names, Our Saviour Jesus Christ, that we will ALL make this again a Annus Mirabilus!

A General Thanksgiving.

ALMIGHTY God, Father of all mercies, we, thine unworthy servants, do give thee most humble and hearty thanks for all thy goodness and loving-kindness to us and to all men; [*particularly to those who desire now to offer up their praises and thanksgivings for thy late mercies vouchsafed unto them.] We bless thee for our creation, preservation, and all the blessings of this life; but above all, for thine inestimable love in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ; for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory. And, we beseech thee, give us that due sense of all thy mercies, that our hearts may he unfeignedly thankful; and that we show forth thy praise, not only with our lips, but in our lives, by giving up our selves to thy service, and by walking before thee in holiness and righteousness all our days; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with thee and the Holy Ghost, be all honour and glory, world without end. Amen.
